Getting to know Conversation View

This is a tutorial with regards to Google Apps Mail’s Conversation View

With Google Apps Mail, all related messages are grouped into a single conversation or thread. When you open a message in a conversation, all of your related messages will be stacked neatly on top of each other. The newest message is always the one you see first.

But there are instances when you want to delete part of a message or want to only reply to a certain message.  Most mistakes happen when one replies to the newest message thinking it will reach the right recipient.  Or when someone hits the Delete button – erasing the entire conversation.

Below are some steps on how to do stuff in Conversation View:

Replying to a single message
1. Click on the message of the conversation view you want to reply to. This will expand the message.
2. Click on Reply located at the top right of the message. You can also click on Reply located at the bottom left of the message.

Deleting a message of a conversation
1. Click on the message you want to delete.
2. Click on the down arrow next to Reply, at the top right of the message.
3. Click Delete this message

Forwarding a message of a conversation
1. Click on the message you want to forward
2. Click the down arrow next to Reply, at the top right of the message.
3. Click Forward
4. You can also click on Forward located at the bottom left of the message.

To see all of the message of a conversation
1. Click on the conversation.
2. Click Expand all located at the top right of the Inbox

To forward the conversation
1. Click on the conversation
2. Click Forward all located at the top right of the Inbox.
