Before starting law school (wherever I wind up), I am going on a 5-6 week trip to Europe. I've ALWAYS wanted to backpack, and I finally have a friend to come along with me. I know once law school starts, I won't have the chance to do something like this in a long time (3-5 years is long for me). So, I am taking the chance to do it now while I can :)

Thanks for this advice. Like most SLS applicants, I'm a planner. The NOT knowing is hard. But I like your advice about settling debts. My focus has been on saving money, filing taxes as early as possible, and applying for as many scholarships as possible. This way, I still feel like I'm making progress towards my goal of going to law school, but I'm looking forward, not backward at my application that has already been submitted. It does wonders for the psyche!

Thank you so much for writing (and posting) this. It's great to hear how other people managed the wait.

I particularly liked the advice on not overdoing the travel. That's a balance I'm trying to strike and it's interesting to see that you think you made a mistake by working with the Navy.
